We delete this data after seven days at the latest. Any further storage takes place only if the personal data has been deleted or anonymised accordingly; in the case of IP addresses, this is done, for example, by abridgement in compliance with data protection.

b) Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive assigned to the browser you are using and through which certain information flows to us.

On our website we use transient and persistent cookies. Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. This particularly includes the session cookies. These cookies save a so-called session ID with which various inquiries of your browser can be allocated to the shared session. Thus your computer can be recognised again when you return to our website. The session cookies will be deleted when you log out or close the browser. Persistent cookies will be deleted in an automated procedure after a prescribed duration, which can vary depending on the cookie. In the security settings of your browser you can delete the cookies at any time.

You can configure your browser settings according to your desires and, for example refuse acceptance of third-party cookies or of all cookies. We expressly state that it is possible that you will not be able to use all functions of this website, in this case.

In addition, we use cookies in order to identify you for subsequent visits, if you have an account with us. Otherwise you would have to login again for each visit.

On one hand, cookies make the use of our offering more pleasant for you and they optimise user-friendliness. On the other hand we use cookies to collect statistical data concerning the use of our website and we analyse this data in order to optimise our offering for you. When you subsequently visit our website, these cookies enable us to automatically detect that you have already been to our website. These cookies will be deleted automatically after defined period of time.

When you visit our website, we draw your attention to the use of cookies by means of a cookie notice that refers to this Data Privacy Statement. In this notice you can also consent to the use of cookies.

If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your data will be deleted automatically. In addition, we will save your IP addresses and the times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of the procedure is to prove your registration and, if necessary, to clarify a possible misuse of your personal data.

The only mandatory information for registering for the newsletter is your email address. After your confirmation, we will save your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter.

e) Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will usually be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, if IP anonymity is activated on this website, your IP address is shortened beforehand by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services related to the use of the website and of the Internet to the operator of the website.

The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data by Google.

While you can prevent the saving of the cookies through an appropriate setting in your browser software, we must point out that in such cases, you may not be able to use the full scope of all the functions of this website. In addition, you can prevent the recording of the data (including your IP address), generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website, by Google and the processing of this data by Google by clicking: deactivate here or downloading and installing the browser plug-in that is available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

This website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. Through this measure IP addresses are shortened for further processing, thus the possibility of a direct personal reference can be excluded. If the data collected about you is related to a person, this data will be excluded immediately and the personal data is deleted immediately.

We use Google Analytics in order to analyse the use of our website and for the ability to make regular improvements. Via the statistics obtained we can improve our offering and make our offering more interesting to you as user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Article 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the purposes of optimisation and marketing, for which we use the results of Google Analytics. If you consent to the use, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR.

e) Social media plug-ins

We currently use the following social media plug-ins: Facebook and Google+. Here, we use the so-called two-click solution. This means that when you visit our website, no personal data is initially passed on to the plug-in providers. You can recognise the provider of the plug-in by the marking on the box above its initial letter or the logo. We give you the opportunity to communicate directly with the provider of the plug-in using the button. The plug-in provider only receives the information that you have called up the corresponding website of our online offering if you click on the marked field and thereby activate it. In addition, the data mentioned under a) of this declaration will be transmitted. In the case of Facebook and Xing, according to the respective providers in Germany, the IP address is anonymised immediately after collection. By activating the plug-in, personal data is transmitted from you to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (with US providers in the United States). Since the plug-in provider collects data especially via cookies, we recommend that you delete all cookies via the security settings of your browser before clicking on the greyed-out box.

We have no influence on the data collected and data processing processes, nor are we aware of the full scope of the data collection, the purposes of the processing or the storage periods. We also have no information on the deletion of the data collected by the plug-in provider.

The plug-in provider saves the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and / or to design their website to meet your needs. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (also for users who are not logged in) to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website.  You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, but you must contact the respective plug-in provider to exercise this right. Via the plug-ins, we offer you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users, so that we can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user.

The legal basis for use of plug-ins is Article 6(1)(1)(f) of the GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest arises from marketing purposes. Insofar as consent is given by clicking on a plug-in, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

The data is passed on regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in with the plug-in provider, your data collected from us will be assigned directly to your account with the plug-in provider. If you press the activated button and e.g. link the page, the plug-in provider also stores this information in your user account and shares it with your contacts. We recommend that you log out regularly after using a social network, but especially before activating the social media plug-in button, as this allows you to avoid being assigned to your profile by the plug-in provider.

Further information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider can be found in the data privacy statements of these providers given below. There you will also find further information about your rights and setting options to protect your privacy.

f) YouTube videos

We have integrated YouTube videos into our online offering, which are stored at http://www.youtube.com and can be played directly from our website. These are all integrated in the “extended data protection mode”, which means that no data about you as a user will be transmitted to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only when you play the videos will the data mentioned in paragraph 2 be transmitted. We have no influence on this data transmission.

When you visit the website, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data mentioned under a) of this declaration will be transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube provides a user account that you are logged in to or whether there is no user account. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not want your YouTube profile to be assigned, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and / or the needs-based design of their website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have a right to object to the creation of these user profiles, but you must contact YouTube to exercise them.

Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube can be found in the data privacy statement. There you will also find further information on your rights and setting options to protect your privacy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Google also processes your personal data in the United States and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

The legal basis for embedding YouTube videos is Article 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from marketing purposes. As far as you consent by clicking on the video, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR.

g) DoubleClick by Google

This website continues to use the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google. DoubleClick uses cookies to serve ads that are relevant to users, to improve reports on campaign performance, or to prevent users from seeing the same ads multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to record which ads are displayed in which browser and can thus prevent them from being displayed multiple times. In addition, DoubleClick can use cookie IDs to record conversions related to ad requests. This is the case, for example, if a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the advertiser’s website with the same browser and buys something there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain any personal information.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge: By integrating DoubleClick, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an ad from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, there is a possibility that the provider will find out and save your IP address.

You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by setting your browser software accordingly. In particular, the suppression of third-party cookies means that you will not receive any advertisements from third-party providers; b) by deactivating the cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser so that cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com” are blocked, https://www.google.de/settings/ads. This setting is deleted when you delete your cookies; c) by deactivating the interest-based ads of the providers that are part of the self-regulation campaign “About Ads” via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, this setting being deleted if you delete your cookies; d) by permanent deactivation in your Firefox browsers, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome under the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offering to their full extent.

The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest arises from the marketing purposes mentioned.

Further information on DoubleClick by Google can be found at https://www.google.de/doubleclick and http://support.google.com/adsense/answer/2839090, as well as on data protection at Google in general: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Alternatively, you can visit the website of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

–Right to object to the processing,
